Janomongal Shomithy Bohor Gram have held their annual Ramadan Iftar 2016 at Care House in London’s East End. The collective is the oldest of its kind in the Bangladeshi region of Sylhet and serves the people through charitable activities and the promotion of education as well as sports and recreational activities. The popular event in east London attracted close to 200 people.
“This is an established collective and it is a pleasure to attend and support the great charitable activities of this collective,” said Moklisur Rahman. “It’s been a good opportunity to network and to find out more about what support is available to the people of Bohorgram and surrounding areas.”
Jobrul Islam, President of the collective in the UK, said, “’I am delighted to welcome all friends and guests here tonight. We are a small collective, but our work is full of heart. It really pleases me that my friends, family and well wishers have turned out in their droves to support us here tonight. Our aim as always is to inspire others to do as we always endeavour to do.”
