IN ASSOCIATION with Barking & Dagenham (LBBD) Community Health, the Leftley Sports Club (LSC) is now an accredited Healthy Lifestyle Partner for the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham.
As part of the partnership, the Borough has formally invited LSC to nominate at least three people to become Community Health Champions (CHCs).
Chair Muhammed Ali commented, “As a community health group, we’re really pleased with the way we have been able to inspire hard-to-reach residents to engage in sporting activities. It’s exciting that we are receiving advice and support to continue with our activities.”
Nominees will partake in a Community Health Champions programme and be offered the Royal Society of Public Health’s (RSPH) accredited training.
•LSC runs “walk & talk” sessions at Mayesbrook Park every Saturday. The sessions are totally free and open to everybody. The meeting point is by the Clare Garden/The Drive gate to Mayesbrook Park every Saturday and Sunday at 10.30 am.
