A MAN HAS been charged with the murder of Jay John, who was found injured in a Hackney Street last month. Jay John was aged 27 and lived near Trinity Close, E8, where he was found after being assaulted.
It was nearly 12.30pm on Saturday, 25th April when police received reports of an assault having taken place in the area. John was taken to an East London hospital, where he sadly died the following day. A post mortem held at Poplar Mortuary gave the cause of death as head injuries. His next of kin are aware of his death.
On 27th April, Romayne Husbands, 26, of Winchester Road, E4 appeared at Thames Magistrates Court, charged with the murder of Jay John, 27, who lived in Hackney. Husbands was remanded in custody, to appear on a later date at the Old Bailey.
The investigation into the death is being led by homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police Specialist Crime North unit.
