A MAN HAS BEEN sent to jail for eight years for carrying out a vicious attack with a carpet knife. The assault took place outside Alice Shepherd House, on Manchester Road on the Isle of Dogs, last October.
The guilty man is Jeremy Muda, 31, of Cygnet House North, Chrisp Street, Poplar. He was found guilty of Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) with Intent at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 16th March.
He returned to the Court at the end of April where, in addition to the jail sentence, he was also served with a restraining order concerning the victim of the attack.
Detective Constable Gemma Thomas from Tower Hamlets CID said, “This sentence reflects how seriously the police and the courts take offences of this kind and I hope it brings a feeling of justice for the victim.”
