Meena Bazar delivers women’s community event

The team at Meena Bazar has delivered a successful community event in east London. The showcase gathering took place at The White House venue in Newham and was attended by over 1,000 visitors from London, Hertfordshire and Birmingham.

Meena Bazar is a social platform, which aims to support women into social enterprise activities. Hafsa Islam, CEO and Organiser, said: “Our first event was at a local community centre and we are very pleased at how this annual roadshow has grown. We provide a platform and help create a pathway for women to develop opportunities and take steps into the world of business and enterprise. We are thankful to the community for the support provided.”

Zakir Khan, Head of Community Affairs at Canary Wharf Group plc said: “We take pride in supporting local community initiatives and events such as this one provide local emerging businesses an opportunity to promote themselves. I am particularly pleased to learn that the organisers are encouraging local women to use their skills to get a foothold on the employment ladder.”
