THE LONDON LIONS have added 6’2” crack defender Jules Dang-Akodo to their team – and import from City Royals, where he spent last season.
Jules has a recent history of playing at international level – which has taken him to Germany, Slovenia and Spain. A member of the Great Britain 2017 Eurobasket squad and Under 20s team, he has also played for England’s U18 team.
Lions Coach Vince Macaulay welcomed Jules to the squad, saying, “He will certainly help us when we want to pick up the pressure on the floor and his speed is what we are all about this season.”
Jules will make his Lions debut in the Lions’ BBL match at Bristol on Saturday.
•Also joining the Lions for the season is Sam Toluwase, who has spent a week with the team and has now signed on the dotted line. Sam is an experienced BBL player, having been part of the Manchester team. He was also a member of the 2016 Sheffield Sharks team which won that year’s playoff and also played in the City Royals team which won last season’s BBL trophy. His career has also taken him overseas: he has played in various European teams and even made it to China.
Vince Macaulay welcomed the veteran player to the Lions, saying, “I know he just wants to compete and play hard.”
