Police raid in Whitechapel

Armed police have this afternoon (22nd July) raided premises in Whitechapel Road. The premises appeared to be in Court Street, a small cul de sac to the north of Whitechapel Road, near the Tube station.

Passers by observed nine armed police officers. One also had a standard police battering ram and one had a crosbar.

Three men were taken away by the police. Two were of Asian appearance and one of African appearance. The three were handcuffed.
