Poplar School hosts three faiths dialogue

Md Talha

AS PART OF interfaith week activities, Our Lady & St Joseph School in Tower Hamlets hosted a three faiths community discussion based on promoting tolerance and understanding between people if different faiths.

The speakers at the event included Jacqui Zinkin from United Synagogue Women, who was joined by John Moffatt SJ and Emdad Rahman. With the theme being “the people of the Book”, all three speakers focussed on their respective holy scriptures and what they means to them. The panel ended with an active Q&A session.

In attendance were Our Lady & St Joseph headteacher Patrick Devereux, Religious Education Leader Cynthia Ni Loingsigh and PC Shay Miah, a faith community liaison officer from the Met Police.

Speaking after the event Sister Christine Frost from Neighbours in Poplar commented, “We were given a really interesting insight into the faiths held so dearly by many folk in Tower Hamlets and for this I thank the speakers and the attendees – together we are definitely stronger.”
