PRIYO MOBILE SET TO MAKE BANGLADESH INDEPENDENCE DAY LAUNCH

Priyo Communications (UK) Limited has announced that it is going to commence its own branded mobile telecommunication services in UK as “Priyomobile” from 26th March 2011.

The services will be offered both in 2G and 3G, focusing the ethnic Bangladeshi market with cheap international connectivity. Priyomobile shares network infrastructure of the largest mobile telecommunication service provider in UK and boasts well over 99% geographic area coverage.

Priyo Communications are looking to target over 600,000 Bangladeshis living across the UK and the Directors believe that the success of few small operators among the Bangladeshis offers a good ground that a Bangladesh-centric mobile operator with low ‘home’ calling rates along with unique valueadded services which would relate them with their origin is necessary to serve the community and to bring pride to its members. Extensive research has been conducted by Priyomobile on various business models and found great interest by the ethnic Bangla community to see a mobile operator with Bangladeshi flavor. Besides, a large number of ‘Bangla’ speakers of West Bengal maintain similar feelings towards Bangla culture and entertainment services. It is the objective of Priyomobile to create ‘value’ for the ethnic Bangladeshis – not only in terms of cheap international calling, but also other contents. Priyomobile has been working on various contents and applications which are likely to connect the users with their roots by delivering Bangladesh-specific digital contents to their handsets.

The objective of Priyomobile would be to serve the Bangla-speaking community first. Priyomobile would offer similar prices as other Ethnic operators, but would also offer unique Bangla contents and value-added services and greater flexibility. For instance, Priyomobile would offer helpline services by Bangla speaking agents (including Sylheties). It would offer Bangla music contents, popular Bangla ringtones, latest and breaking news directly from Bangladesh etc.

Priyomobile plans to launch its services in the UK as a distinct mobile operator on 26th March 2011 – the Independence Day of Bangladesh.
