Controversial local venue the Rich Mix Cinema is offering films and football this month.
As part of the East End Film Festival, Rich Mix will be showing a number of films and hosting subsequent Q&A sessions from 14th to 25th June. Films to be shown include Casablanca Calling (see photo), which will be on Screen 1 on 18th June, followed by a Q&A. See listings on page 20 for details of individual films.
Sports fans will fare a little better, with the Rich Mix Centre planning to screen Fifa World Cup football matches between 12th June and 13th July with free admission. The programme begins with the opening game between host nation Brazil and Croatia on 12th June at 9pm and closes with a broadcast of the final itself, on Sunday, 13th July at 8pm.
Football fans will be able to view the matches for FREE on a giant screen in the main bar or can purchase a VIP ticket to watch from the Mezzanine Gallery in a two hour session during which a range of authentic cuisine, Brazilian cocktails and a variety of unlimited drinks will be available.
Live Brazilian music will be performed before or after the games and a variety of arts, culture and activities will be spread through the Rich Mix building. Rich Mix is promise a month-long carnival. Goodness.
