Salmonella found in sausage sold in Tesco

A NASTY bacterium has been found in a dried sausage product sold in Tesco stores. The product, Bastides Saucisson Sec, is manufactured by Sacor – and it has now been recalled.

The bacterium is Salmonella, which can cause fever, diarrhoea and vomiting, and abdominal cramps. It is quite contagious, so anyone who has these symptoms is advised to stay at home until the symptoms stop or for 48 hours, whichever is shorter. The Saucisson comes in a pack size of 200g and the best before date is 4th March.

Anyone who has this product should not eat it.  You should take it to your nearest Teso, where you will receive a full refund. For more information, email:
