TEAM ENGLAND mountain biker Evie Richards has won a silver medal at the Under-23s Mountain Biking World Cup event in Val di Sole, Italy.
Evie completed the course in one hour, seven minutes and 47 seconds – just 42 seconds behind Ronja Eibl from Germany. Her performance has brought her up to fourth place in the Women’s Under-23s World Rankings.
Mountain biking is not Evie’s only strength: she became the Under 23 Cyclo-cross World Champion in 2016 – retaining her title in 2018.
Evie firmly believes that “life is better on two wheels”. Her top tip for others who are trying to develop their cycling is to identify a local challenge and repeat it – and then record your times. This will help you improve – and track your progress. Her other top tip is to remember to stay hydrated.
The Under-23 World Cup now moves on to Switzerland before heading across the Atlantic for events in Canada and the USA.
