HOW MUCH OF New South Wales (NSW) has been lost in the Australian bushfires – measured in Waleses?
•The area of Wales, one of the four countries in the United Kingdom, is estimated to be 2.0735 million hectares.
•The NSW Rural Fire Service estimates that 5.4 million hectares of land have been burned in that state alone. That’s just over two and a half times the area of the original Wales.
