PEOPLE ARE talking about how the Coronavirus Pandemic could change our society, as people begin to recognise our basic common humanity rather than seek confrontation at all costs. Nelson Mandela – a man who knew a thing or two about peace – recognised this a while ago. In April, we remember the anti-nuclear weapons Aldermaston march: our “Thoughts” this month will concentrate on aspects of peace.
“People respond in accordance to how you relate to them. If you approach them on the basis of violence, that’s how they’ll react. But if you say, ‘We want peace, we want stability,’ we can then do a lot of things that will contrihute towards the progress of our society.”
