Tinie Tempah’s Troxy gig launches disabled people’s club

There are 11.8 million people living with a disability in the UK – and that’s up to 11.8 million people who are potential members of “Why Not People?”, the UK’s first (and, to date, only) members’ club solely for disabled people.

Launched at the start of the year, Why Not People? has received support from global musicians and TV personalities such as Coldplay, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson, Tinie Tempah, paralympic athletes Ade Adepitan, Jordanne Whiley, Hannah Cockroft, Hannah Russell and TV personality Alex Brooker.

Why Not People? is keen to stage fully inclusive and totally accessibly events for its members, hoping these events will also encourage other clubs and venues to improve access and facilities. The first gig will be on 1st July at The Troxy. Jameela Jamil will host the event, Tinie Tempah will be there, and it will feature appearances from F2Freestylers and other Why Not People? ambassadors.

The event will feature the “SubPac” – a high-fidelity immersive audio device which delivers low frequencies directly into the body and provides the physical experience to music, movies, games and more. It helps all users literally feel the sound. With a frequency range (5hz-130hz), the listening experience is a more physical and visceral experience, allowing everyone to enjoy music in the most immersive way possible.
