THREE Community Support Hubs have been set up by Tower Hamlets Homes to support vulnerable residents. It is estimated that over 600 elderly and otherwise vulnerable residents could benefit.
Tower Hamlets Homes, which manages Council residential properties on behalf of Tower Hamlets Council, is working with local community groups to ensure that services meet the needs on the Grounds. Neighbours in Poplar, St Hilda’s East Community Centre, East London Cares and Darul Ummah have all been working with Tower Hamlets Homes on the new initiative.
In addition to offering practical support through the new Hubs, Tower Hamlets Homes is also providing financial advice to residents over the phone through its Financial Health Centre. The Centre can help with a range of questions – including those relating to welfare benefits and the dreaded Universal Credit.
Residents who need help from one of these services are asked to get in touch. Residents are also asked to refer others who need help.
