TWO TEENAGERS have been arrested, less than two weeks after Barking teenager Hasan Ozcan,19, died from multiple stab wounds. It was 3rd February when the emergency services were called to Abbey Road and found Hasan, who died at the scene.
The youngsters – one aged just 15, the other 19 – were arrested in the morning of Friday, 16th February from addresses in Hornchurch and Dagenham. They are being held, on suspicion of murder, at separate police stations in East London.
Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) are investigating the murder, and they have renewed their appeal to the public for information about what happened on the night of the killing.
Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, who is leading the investigation, explained, “We have made two arrests but we are still appealing for information so we can establish the circumstances which led to a young man losing his life. It is vital that those out there with information who haven’t yet done so contact the police.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who saw a group of males loitering in the area on the evening of the attack. Were you there? Did you see the suspects arrive or leave the scene?”
•Anyone with information is asked to call the HMCC incident room on 020-8345 3985. Calls will be treated in the strictest confidence. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111, where you can give information anonymously.
