JAHIDUL HAQUE scored a blistering 122 and Shaha Riadh 60 as Scintilla saw off Tennyson CC after reaching 309 all out.
After tea Adil Ejaz Bhatti’s side made light work of Tennyson to bowl their opponents all out for 120. The impressive batting displays follow on from the previous weekend, when Walid Ahmed became the highest match day run scorer in Scintilla history after scoring 175 against Fords. The game also saw Scintilla Essex County League skipper Shaha Riadh score his second half century.
“We are enjoying our cricket and it is a total pleasure to captain and play alongside these boys,” said captain Ejaz, who has now captained the team to two consecutive 300 plus totals and produced a club record run scorer.
The first team won the last game of the season against Bow Green to finish the league table in the top four as Barking clinched the Premier Division. Skipper Ayaz Karim commented, “Congratulations to Barking on back to back wins. They were by far the most consistent team in our division. We will reflect, re-energise, and come back stronger next year.”
