THE VALENCE CRICKET CLUB (VCC) was delighted to launch its 2018 cricket season with a comprehensive win in the T20 Cup game at Elliot Davis Cricket League last Sunday.
Valence CC gathered a mighty total of 217/4 from 20 overs against London Warriors. Club Captain Shumon Sharif scored a blistering 62, which set the right tempo for gaining a big total. Sharif was well supported by Mobashshir (41), Avi (41) and Gul (34).
Chasing a huge total, London Warriors put themselves in a difficult position by loosing three early wickets with the dominance of Mobashshir and Pintu. For VCC, the wickets were shared by four bowlers – Shumon, Pintu, Rafi, Mobashshir – all with two wickets each.
Valence CC’s Sunday XI skipper, Zubair Bajwa, said, “This is the result of collective team effort. We love having experienced Shumon around and he’s a terrific presence on and off the field.”
