POLICE BELIEVE that a woman who died in Waltham Forest may have been the victim of a domestic dispute. They have arrested a man, 54, on suspicion of murder.
The emergency services were called out just before noon today, Tuesday, 25th February. by a third party who was concerned about the occupants of a residential property in Magnolia Close, E10.
The police attended the property, together with medics from the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance. They found a 35 year old woman with injuries which appeared to be stab wounds. Medics did their best to revive the woman, but had to declare her dead at the scene.
The man who was arrested was also in the property when the police attended. Officers are not seeking anyone else in connection with their inquiries and have reported the incident to homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
Detective Inspector Olly Clark, said, “At this very early stage we are treating this as a domestic-related incident and believe the parties were known to each other. We are not seeking further suspects. A man was arrested at the scene and officers will be working hard to establish the exact sequence of events which led to this woman losing her life. A post-mortem examination in due course will help us establish this and we will keep the victim’s family and local community informed as the investigation progresses.”
