POLICE WERE really ticked off last week to learn that two boxes of high value watches had disappeared from a delivery van as it made its way through Stepney Green.
The van travelled through Stepney Green, stopping at Cephas Street, Pemell Close and Assembly Passage. Police have not revealed when the loss of the two boxes of watches was discovered.
The watches are made by the Cabot Watch Company (CWC) and are relatively rare. There is only one shop which sells them, though they can also be bought direct from the manufacturer. The watches, together with some components which also disappeared during the same journey, are thought to have a value of around £300,000.
Police have asked for anyone who saw a theft taking place or anything else suspicious to come forward. They have also asked the public to be on the lookout for anyone trying to sell watches informally.
