Young London Tigers smash LIC FC

ELS: London Tigers u-16 finally faced Lewisham Islamic Centre FC in an eagerly awaited  charity match at the Valley, Charlton FC’s football ground. London Tigers warmed up on the pitch while the fans slowly entered. Managers Armandos Kavaja, Terry Whitman and Raazik Ussein chose a 4-3-3 formation.The game began with London Tigers pressed high up on the pitch, and the rhythm of passing between the midfield trio (Yahya El Khabouche, Kamrul Uddin and Musa Harrack) was sublime. An opportunity soon arose as Oroua Chiademi burst in the box from a wide position and tempted the LIC FC full back to stick a foot-in, illegally, and this earned the Tigers U16 a penalty kick. Team Captain, Yahya, stood up and tucked it away despite the opposition goalkeeper attempting to put him off.Tension arose and tackles were flying in, when Hussain Daher endeavoured to head away the ball when an LIC FC player met Hussain’s nose with his boots, which resulted in a broken nose for the London Tigers’ defender. This urged the team to push forward so the second goal was scored by Bruno with a neat lob over the head of the goalkeeper after some good passing in the midfield and an exquisite through ball from Musa.Billal El-Ghani added the third goal after meeting the ball over the top from WassimAdane, and slotting it home with his weaker foot. This ended any hopes of a comeback from LIC and the Tigers passed the ball about very comfortably with the 3 midfielders repeatedly knocking the ball about. At half time the Tigers were up 3-0.After the half time, LIC attempted some goals that were no threat to Tigers goalkeeperRezwan Rahman, who rarely had any work to do on the day. Hyder added first goal of the second half after he was brought down in the penalty area. He himself buried the resultant penalty kick, with the goalkeeper again attempting to put off the taker.Billal scored another goal after some good work down the right hand side by right backOroua. Additionally, Fathi Layes, the Tigers’ right winger, had a fantastic afternoon, repeatedly skilfully poking the ball through the legs of his opposition to bypass them, despite having a slight injury to the eye.Rio Spencer had a great goal disallowed by the referee; on the other hand, what was to happen next was just extravagant. Rio had the ball on the left and simply passed to Hyderwho picked it up with one thing on his mind – to work the goalkeeper. He beat 2 defenders and curled the ball into the top corner with great finesse. The celebration to come was as good, the ‘doggy pile’ was so high and even goalie Rezwan, came to join the celebration.LIC FC got their goal late on after a free kick was conceded needlessly by Tigers and the LIC FC midfielder hit it high up and Rezwan misjudged it so the ball crept in. This was less than a consolation goal as it was so late it didn’t have any significance at all.
