Young’s recall fish cakes

“CHIP SHOP FISH CAKES” manufactured by food company Young’s have been recalled because they may contain pieces of plastic and metal. Customers who have bought this product should not eat it.

The Food Standards Agency has announced that this product is sold in some Farmfoods stores and in Heron Foods stores. It is not known whether the product can be purchased in any other shops.

The Chip Shop fish cakes which may pose a risk are a frozen product sold in a pack of six, weighing 300g. The batches in question are:
January 2019: AAL 7209K & AAL 7209L;
February 2019: AAK 7222J & AAL 7222K.

Anyone who has the product at home, presumably stored in a freezer, is asked to return it to the store where they bought it, where they will receive a full refund. Customers will see point of sale warning notices about the product in food stores.

No other Young’s products are believed to have been affected by this product recall.
