Reker Ahmed: more charges, car sought

TWO MORE individuals have been charged in connection with the racist attack on Reker Ahmed in Croydon on 31st March. They are Kyran Evans (23) and a 17 year old woman. They are due to appear in Court to answer charges of violent disorder tomorrow (4th April).

Reker Ahmed continues to show signs of a slight improvement.  The friends he was at the bus stop with have been named as Dilshad Mohammed, also an Iraqi Kurd, and Hamo Mustafa. Both received minor injuries.

Police have thanked the public for assistance they have given to date and appealed for further help. They are now trying to trace a white hatchback motor vehicle with a black roof which stopped near the scene of the attack. The car had one or more passengers as well as the driver.

Police are also trying to find out whether the crowd involved in the attack had been drinking in the nearby The Goat pub (pictured above). Sixteen people have been arrested to date and police believe they will make further arrests as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Croydon CID during office hours on 020 3276 2234 or via 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555 111.
