Shawn and Tanin crucial in double Scintilla wins

ISHAQ SHAWN continued his rich vein of form as Scintilla CC beat Shane Moss CC by 4 wickets. The talented opener scored 71 and took 4 crucial wickets to lead his team to victory.

Captain Yeasin Arafat contributed 46 and Junaed Tanin ably supported the openers with a useful 44 as Scintilla cruised home. Jahidul Haque added 25, with Mayank Bhatt the pick of the opposing bowlers with three wickets.

Shane Moss looked good at the crease as Adeel Pirzada thundered 88 runs along with 47 from Jodha Singh and 37 from Irfan Ismail. But four crucial wickets from Shawn and one each from Syed Ifthekhar and Morshadur Rahman reduced the opposition to 213 runs after 45 overs.

Captain Yeasin Arafat said, “This win is a confidence boost for us. The boys played well from beginning to end and showed no fatigue despite fasting for so many long hours. Well done everybody.”

•In the Essex Sunday League, Shaha Riadh’s team beat Rose & Crown by 6 wickets, with Tanin continuing his rich form and making top scorer with 85 not out. Juwel Roy contributed 40.

Riadh said, “This was a big game and the boys game came up trumps. We thrive on pressure and our opponents presented us a massive challenge. The standards in this league are unbelievable.”
