Young people inspired at Dawatul Islam activity day

DAWATUL ISLAM held a day of friendly activities on the day of the London Marathon for visitors who travelled from Swansea to London for the day. The two city groups have enjoyed a friendship spanning decades and often travel back and forth on an annual basis to renew ties. Activities included enjoying the hustle and bustle of the London Marathon and football games between the young people and adults.

After the physical activities, an afternoon of other activities took place at Care House to engage the young people. Zoinul Abidin, Chair of Jamiatul Ummah, delivered a group workshop on civic responsibilities in a democratic society. Participants were required to elect a Prime Minister and Cabinet and provide a five minute presentation to everyone present.

DI 2Maswood Ahmed MBA delivered a short motivational speech on aspirations and dreaming big. The CEO of www.inspireamillion.com took questions from younger members of the audience and spoke of the strategies required to become inspirational leaders.

Shabbir Kawsar from Dawatul Islam said: “We have had a very productive day and it is really nice that the young people have enjoyed themselves. The combination of activities we have had today has been balanced, with a bit of everything thrown in. I hope the young people have benefitted from our humble efforts here today.”
