Sounds on Sunday: 50 years ago – 1976-26

FIFTY YEARS AGO we were humming along to the hits of 1976. Some have magnificently stood the test of time; others have not. Join us on Memory Lane as we review them on their golden anniversaries.

This week 50 years ago, Mississippi by “Pussycat” were still at number one in the charts. This gives us the opportunity to have a break from the charts. October is breast cancer awareness month, and we are offering you Pink Ribbons. It was written by two young men whose mothers were going through treatment for breast cancer at the time, and it’s a lovely mixture of facing up to reality and finding hope at the same time.

Wear it pink this month – especially on 23rd October. Keep checking your round bits, boys and girls – and live life to the full.
