Emdad Rahman: Bollywood star Amitabh Bachan paid a quick visit to London to attend the opening of the Barking branch of Caveat Solicitors this week.
Rehana Choudhry heads the company as the Principal and founder. She qualified as a solicitor in 1998 and is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel as well as a Specialist Accredited Member of Resolution in the areas of Children and Domestic Violence. Rehana said: “I primarily specialise in family law and the law dealing with children. I have dealt with a number of complex cases including those involving local authorities where non accidental injury is involved, including Shaken Baby Syndrome cases.
“I have successfully defended many cases for clients, achieving return of children in their care or a positive outcome. I have acted for many clients within the Bengali community.
“I set up Caveat Solicitors in 2011, and within two years we now have four offices in Barking, Shepherds Bush, Hounslow and Harrow and we are committed to helping the local community and providing excellent client care.”
The firm has a team of specialist solicitors to help in most areas of law including family law, immigration and housing and it hold legal aid contracts in these areas. The firm has been committed to helping victims of domestic violence and has also been providing pro bono services to local charities and organisations. It hopes to furnish this service within East London, where there appears to be a need for specialist advice.
