The fifth Emerge Festival will take place from 8th to 19th November – and applications are now open for choreographers and practitioners who want to take part. Applicants are being urged to get their applications in as soon as possible as the festival will be condensed from three weeks into two weeks this year.
Each work is performed for five nights in a row in the first or second week. Each selected choreographer will receive choreographic, lighting and marketing support. All performers engage in a warm-up, delivered by a different choreographer from that week, each night. Successful candidates will be able to have 1-1 sessions with Producer (Adam Towndrow) on touring, providing ideas of where to take the work after the Emerge Festival run. Representatives from local and national venues, producers, funding bodies and the press will be observing performances at the Festival.
•The Emerge Festival is run by the C-12 Dance Theatre. Catch the premier of their new show at the Wilderness Festival at 6.45pm on Saturday, 6th August or Sunday, 7th August.
•To apply to submit a work at the Emerge Festival, email enquiries@c-12dancetheatre.com for an application form (or email in for further information). The deadline for applications is 6pm on 1st August.
