IT WAS SHOCK news. Ten years ago, on 11th January 2016, the UK woke up to the news that music legend David Bowie had passed away.
The fact that he had been ill had been kept secret from the public. And the news was even more of a shock because just days before his death he had released a new album. Pundits who had been praising it on radio and TV suddenly found themselves being recalled to the studio to comment on Bowie’s legacy.
East London News was quick to report the news – so quick that the ELN report headed the UK google search pages for half an hour before the tabloids woke up. Read their report here. It was spot on.
