Did you see Central Line assault?

AN APPEAL has come out from the British Transport Police for witnesses to an assault on a woman travelling on a Central Line Tube to come forward.

The assault took place at around 3.30pm on Monday, 2nd December. A woman was travelling from Shepherds Bush to Liverpool Street. A woman came and sat down next to her. The two began arguing. The second woman then began to assault the first one: punching her in the head, scratching her face and pulling her hair. Three members of the public came forward and restrained the woman who was committing the assault. They managed to move her away, but she came back and began stamping on the feet of her victim.

The assailant then poured a bottle of juice over the victim. She then smashed an empty glass bottle over her head – causing the victim to lose consciousness.

The police would like to speak to the members of the public who restrained the assailant or to anyone who saw the incident.

If you have any information which could help the British Transport Police deal with this assault, please contact them by texting 61016 or phoning 0800-405040. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111 and give information anonymously.
