IT WAS 6.15pm on Thursday, 31st August when a 19 year old woman pedestrian and a vehicle were involved in a collision on Lea Bridge Road, E10, near the junction with Elm Park Road.
The London Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance attended and found that the woman had received life threatening head and leg injuries. She was taken to an East London hospital but sadly died in hospital later that evening. Her next of kin have been informed.
Police had to close the road while they dealt with the incident and to allow paramedics to do their work. The driver of the vehicle received treatment from paramedics at the scene of the collision and was then taken to an East London police station and interviewed under caution. No arrests were made.
