East London man faces terror charge

TWO MEN appeared at the Old Bailey last month to face charges connected with terrorism.

The two were:
Sahayb Aweys Munye, 27, of East London, who faced a charge of preparation of terrorist acts contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act;
Muhamed Aweys Munye Abu, 31, of South London, who faced charges of failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism, contrary to Section 38B of the Terrorism Act.

The two cases were formally joined so that both defendants will face trial together. They were remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey for pre-trial preparation hearing on 23rd November. The full trial is provisionally scheduled for 25th January 2021.
