Fatal shooting in Forest Road

A YOUNG MAN was found suffering from a gunshot injury in Forest Road, Walthamstow, E17 at approximately 9.30pm on Wednesday, 14th March – and died on the way to hospital.

He was found by the police, who had received reports of shots being heard. The London Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance were also called to the scene. The next of kin of the victim, who is believed to be aged 20, have been informed.

The death is being investigated by DCI Andrew Packer, on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Homicide and Major Crime Command. He said, “At this early stage, it is believed that the victim was in a stationary vehicle which was approached by a number of suspects before shots were fired. These shots have fatally wounded the victim and left his family and friends devastated. We are doing everything we can to find the culprits. I would urge all witnesses and those with information to contact police.”
