Friendly sees Chattak beaten by Sylhet Sadar

Emdad Rahman

SYLHET SADAR kickstarted their Greater Sylhet Cup campaign for 2017 with a resounding win over a promising Chattak side. Jabid Ullah’s young charges were energetic throughout the game, and it was wasteful finishing that prevented the score being higher.

Sylhet missed a penalty but gained the win as Toto assisted Abdul Khaher for the only goal of the game. Chattak were strong and composed at the back but the attackers failed to break through the Sylhet rearguard.

On their overall performance Sylhet may surprise a few teams in this year’s showdown at Mabley Green at the end of the month.

Sylhet manager Ullah said, “My team were measured throughout and I’m pleased with their fitness levels. We will use these friendlies to build up rapport within the squad. If we click I feel we will give a decent account of ourselves when the Upazila Cup comes around.”
