Isle of Dogs murder: woman charged

A WOMAN HAS BEEN charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of John Maclean, 35, in Galleon House a block of flats at the southern end of Manchester Road, opposite George Green school.

Police were called out at around 8am on Thursday, 12th April following reports of a disturbance in a seventh floor flat in Galleon House – a block on a former Council estate which is now owned by East End Homes.

The London Ambulance Service sent emergency teams to the flat, but Mr Maclean was pronounced dead at the scene.

There have been reports that Mr Maclean lived in the flat with a woman, his daughter and his dog. It is thought that his young daughter witnessed the altercation which led to the charge of murder.

Police arrested Ms Alex Glanfield-Collis, 25, of Manchester Road, E14, at the scene and she was charged with murder in the early hours of Friday, 13th April. She later appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court, where she confirmed her personal details and was remanded in custody, to appear at the Old Bailey on 17th April.
