US PRESIDENT Donald Trump makes some pretty outstanding claims – but this one is surely a contender for “claim of the century”.
A man called Chris Martz posted a comment on X on 12th September, commenting on the lack of hurricanes in the North Atlantic this year. Most meteorologists and weather-watchers predicted several months ago that there was a reduced chance of hurricanes this year, because of the El Nino effect. This is a well established weather pattern that occurs roughly ever ten years or so.
The lack of hurricanes was picked up by the X account “Rapid Response 47”, which is an official White House account. It’s comment? “Thank you, President Trump.”
Thanking Trump for delivering the weather? Things have certainly changed since King Canute’s days.
