Roy was not the only high scorer in the game. Ashfaqur Rahaman Nobel (56) and Ishaq Shawn (44) added excellent knocks as the Barking & Dagenham club racked up 268 from 36 overs to reach their highest score this season.

As the game was affected by rain, Redbridge were set a revised target of 184 runs from 25 overs – long enough for them to score 133/9. Vice Captain Sajal Rahman took 3 wickets alongside Ayaz Karim and Firoz Dogha, who took 2 wickets each.

“It’s a proud moment for me,” said man of the match Juwel Roy. “The weather was a real test but we came together really well. I’m only as good as my team mates and I dedicate this to all of them.”

Captain Ayaz Karim added, “Despite the threat of rain flooding we pulled off a huge win. This will send a message through to the rest of the league – that we mean business and are hungry for success. Well done to Nobel and Shawn for their fantastic support in helping Roy reach his century.”
