Keeping up with the Jones

Thousands of British holidaymakers head for Spain each year: but how do we communicate with the locals? School-student Spanish (if you remember it) may not be enough. If you don’t want to find yourself at a loss, now’s the time to team up with Hollywood star and ex-footballer Vinnie Jones who is fronting up an online tutorial to help you prepare for your trip. Vinnie delivers a unique performance explaining 16 helpful questions and phrases which will help you find your feet.

The project’s backed by communications company Three, who launched the tutorials at the same time as announcing that customers will be able to call, text and use the internet at no extra cost in Spain from 1st April.

Vinnie Jones said: “I’ve holidayed in Spain for years and you can’t beat it for sun, sea, sand and a few sangrias. Along the way I’ve managed to pick up a bit of the local lingo so it’s great to be able to share some with my fellow Brits and help them out as they prepare for their holiday. Hopefully with this and the new offering from Three, they’re going to have a blinding trip this year.”

Vinnie Jones’ essential Spanish phrases include such gems as:
Hi, my name’s Vinnie, what’s yours?
Alright sunshine, how you keeping?
Morning my friend, you seen the temperature today?
Which way to the beach? I need to sort my tan out
Oi, come over here and get in this selfie mate
Wow, slow it down, I don’t speak much Spanish
