Motorcyclist dies in Canning Town collision

POLICE ARE appealing for witnesses to help them investigate a collision in Canning Town in which a motorcyclist was killed. The incident took place just after 9pm on Tuesday, 27th February in Silvertown Way, E16.

It seems that a BMW motor vehicle was in a collision with a motorcycle and two taxis – one yellow and one silver. The London Ambulance Service took the motorcyclist, a 32 year old man, to hospital, but sadly he died shortly after arriving.

The Metropolitan Police believe they have identified the motorcyclist and they are now trying to locate his next of kin. Formal identification is awaited and a post mortem will be held shortly.

No one else was injured and all the other drivers spoke to police at the scene of the accident. The collision is being investigated by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Chadwell Heath Traffic Garage.
