Nobel on fire as Scintilla beat Supernova to retain top spot

In a clash of the top two, Scintilla defeated Supernova in the latest National Cricket League meeting at Ongar Cricket Ground. In this Super Sunday clash, the Essex team batted first to reach 184 all out from 38 overs. Nobel Rahman scored 69, Ashraful Islam 30 and Vice Captain Sajal Rahman 21.

Supernova have led the league for most of this season and proved tough opponents. Bellal Hossain scored a half century and Hassan contributed 20 as their team were bowed out for 180 from 36 overs. Nobel reached bowling figures of 3/23, Sajal Rahman 2/44, and Ashish Morankar 2/27.

Scintilla Captain Ayaz Karim said, “This was always a tough one and the win gives us a psychological edge over Supernova.” Man of the match Nobel Rahaman added, “It’s a tremendous win and we need to keep this momentum up. It is going to be an interesting end of season.”
