Police appeal for witnesses to Redbridge stabbing

A MAN WAS stabbed by two unknown assailants on Baddow Close, Redbridge, at approximately 1.30pm on Sunday, 29th March. Police have appealed for information from the public to help them identify the attackers.

The man, who is in his 30s, was stabbed in the back. After the attack he made his way from Baddow Close to the nearby Ray Lodge Road, where he found two police officers, who gave him first aid. The victim was taken to an East London hospital, where he was assessed as being in a stable condition and admitted for treatment.

The two men who had stabbed him ran off down Baddow Close after the attack. One man is described as wearing a black Nike tracksuit. The other man was wearing a short sleeved padded jacket and black tracksuit bottom, as well as a baseball cap.

Detective Inspector Joe Stewart from the East Area Local Investigations team is leading the investigation. He said, “This was a shocking attack which took place in broad daylight. Given the timing of this incident, we hope there are witnesses who saw what happened and will be able to help identify these two men.”

Anyone who saw the attack itself or two men in or near Baddow Road at the time of the attack, or who has any other information which may assist the investigation is asked to contact the police via 101 and quote the reference CAD 2222/29 MAR.
