A SERGEANT serving in the Metropolitan Police has been charged with sexual assault on a woman member of police staff during an incident which, it is alleged, took place at police premises in Hackney on 15th October last year.
The man has been named as PS David Morton, 54, who worked for the Metropolitan Police Detention Command. He was charged on 3rd July has been released on bail. He is due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on 28th September.
PS Morton has been transferred to restricted duties by the Metropolitan Police.
