Police seek witnesses after Hackney man charged with murder

POLICE HAVE now charged a suspect with murder, in connection with the death of a 57 year old woman in Hackney on 15th or 16th March. Now they are calling for witnesses to come forward, as their investigations continue.

The victim has been named as Tracy Kidd, of Charnwood Street, E5. Her body was found on the afternoon of 17th March, by police and staff from the London Ambulance Service who called at the property after receiving reports that there were concerns about her welfare. A post mortem gave the cause of death, provisionally, as a head injury.

Paul Vissers, 40, also of Charnwood Street, E5, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder: he is the man who was later formally charged. He appeared at Thames Magistrates Court on 21st March, where he was remanded in custody, and later appeared at the Old Bailey.

On 18th March, police arrested two women: one, 48, in Southend; and another, 32, in Hackney. They were initially held in custody and later released under investigation. The case is being investigated by detectives from Specialist Crime North, who are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
