Scintilla Cricket Club launched their new kits as team members enjoyed a pre-season get together before the start of the new cricket season. During the summer, the Essex-based club will have teams playing in both the Essex County Cricket League on Saturdays and the National Cricket League the day after. Along with the kit launch, the 2014 champions held a dinner and social event where new players were introduced and strategies and hopes for the season ahead were discussed.

In attendance was Naufal Zamir, CEO at Right Call Telecom Ltd and the chief sponsor for the cricket club this season. Zamir has been involved in supporting the team for almost a decade and has even donned the whites to play for the team over the years. He said: “This is a special club and I can see a plethora of Ambassadors ready to take the team to the next level. We at Right Call are always on the lookout for talented people who we are proud to associate ourselves with. I continue to be proud of the achievements of this club and it is for this very reason that I have no hesitation in supporting the team.”

Ali Akbar Ahmed, MD of Apex Mortgage Services, who is also supporting the club said: “The reputation of the club is known far and beyond. We are very happy to support the teams and wish the players and officials the very best of success.”

First team skipper Ayaz Karim was optimistic: “We have joined up to train together during pre season. The spirit is really good and the boys are determined to make their mark. If we can train hard and remain focussed, then we are capable of making a real impact.”

Second team captain Shaha Riadh led his side to promotion last season. “We will take this enthusiasm into the season ahead. Our consistency is the key to having a good and great season and we will be fully focussing on achieving the best of our abilities,” he said.

Senior player Sajal Rahman added: “We have put in some useful training this pre-season. A few new faces have joined. The boys are refreshed and looking forward to the season ahead. I feel that on our day we are a match for any team in both the leagues we will be participating in.”

Club Captain Ahmed Choudhury said: “This cricket club has displayed tenacity, determination and resolve over the last ten years.  I continue to fulfil my role working alongside such inspiring people. It’s not difficult with such commitment and talent around me. I wish our teams every success this season.”
