SCINTILLA CRICKET CLUB have beaten Millwall Stars CC to take the match-winning 20 points to maintain the top spot.

The Essex County Cricket League Championship Division One leaders lost the toss and Millwall elected to bat first. A healthy run rate ensued before Hanif Kibria and Saad Bidiwala dismantled an opening 87 run partnership. It was a game changing moment as Millwall were bowled out for 188 after 42 overs – with Bidiwala taking four wickets, Morshadur Rahman and Kibria two apiece and Sajal Rahman taking one.
A lethargic batting spell by Scintilla saw the loss of crucial early wickets before middle order batsman and man of the match MJ Hasan steadied the ship, forming crucial partnerships with Ishaq Shawn, Sajal Rahman and Abu Bakker Rony to steer Scintilla home with a five wicket victory.
Captain Ishaq Shawn remains focussed going forward. “We have an outstanding group of players here,” he said. “Our strength is not as individuals but as a collective force, and every single point we gain is as a result of our dedication to succeed. Our full attention now turns to the next game.”
