Stratford stabbing: two appear in court

A MAN AND A WOMAN have been remanded in custody – charged in connection with with the killing of Giedrius Juskauskas in Stratford last Monday, 17th June. They will next appear at the Old Bailey on 27th June.

Juskauskas was found by the emergency services in Whalebone Lane, near West Ham Lane, E15. He was suffering from stab wounds, which proved fatal. He was declared dead shortly after being found.

The two who appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court are:
Mantas Kvedaras, 25, who was charged with murder;
Asta Juskauskiene, 34, who was charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
In addition, a 17 year old girl has been arrested but has now been released on bail until a date in late July.

A post mortem established that the cause of death was hypovolemic shock caused by multiple stab wounds. Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are continuing their investigations.

Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, who is leading the investigating, said, “I am urging anyone with information regarding this fatal stabbing to come forward and speak with my team. Were you in the vicinity of Whalebone Lane from around 00:30hrs [on 17th June]? Did you see anything suspicious? Your information could prove vital to our enquiries.”
