POLICE ARE appealing for witnesses to come forward after two men were stabbed near Clapton Common, Hackney, E5. The incident occurred on 27th June, with reports coming in to the police at 11.24pm.
Both victims were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. Fortunately their injuries were neither life-threatening nor life-changing. The victims are understood to be Romanian nationals, but the incident is not being treated as a hate crime.
A 33 year old man was arrested near the scene. He is also thought to be a Romanian national. On 29th June Ilie-Manuel Constantine, 33, of Portland Avenue, N16 was charged with one count of Grievous Bodily Harm with intent and one count of Actual Bodily Harm. He was held in custody. Police are now trying to establish the circumstances of the incident and have appealed for help from the public.
