Barking CC were the victors as they romped home to a crushing 121 run victory over champions Scintilla CC at Mayesbrook Park.

Barking won the toss and chose to bat first. The home team found themselves in trouble after losing their openers Shan Shafiq, Sagar Seth, Umer Mahmood and the in-form Eman Sheikh for 23 runs.

Captain Ehsan Afzal duly took to the wicket and struck a captain’s knock of 71 to steady the ship. Omar Khan supported with 35 and S. Saeed with 22. The momentum had swung the way of Barking and they continued in the same vein. Saddique drove home the nails in a spell of nine overs, with two maidens and 16 runs for five wickets.
