The incident took place at around 9pm, when a woman in her early 50s heard the doorbell ring. She looked out of the window and saw that the person ringing the bell was a well groomed woman in her 30s, with shoulder length brown hair and olive skin. The woman smiled and waved at her. The victim opened the door – and two men rushed in, knocking her over.
The first man put his foot on the victim, forcing her to stay on the floor, while the second man went up to the bedrooms – money and jewellery was later found to be missing. The men had east European accents and spoke to each other in a language which was not English.

He had dark hair which was short on the back and sides and was spiky on top, with blond tips to the spikes. He was wearing blue jeans, a black leather jacket which seemed to be too small for him, and yellow boots which were dirty. The second man was short and fat, a little older than the first man, and with a missing front tooth He was wearing a grey Nike tracksuit. Both men looked dirty and not well groomed.
